What happens to your text

Your writing is yours. Here is where it goes when you run a check, what is saved, and how to delete it.

Updated · Full details in our privacy policy

The short answer

  • Your text is sent over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), only to produce your results.
  • We never sell it, use it for advertising or use it to train AI models.
  • We do not add it to a database that other people’s checks are compared against.
  • If you are signed in, your checks are saved to your history, and you can delete them at any time.

Where your text goes

Plagiarism check. Your text is compared with web and academic sources by our plagiarism-matching service. This is a search-and-compare process, not an AI model trained on your text.

AI detection. Your text is sent to an AI-detection service through its API. Under that service’s terms, text sent through its API is not stored by default and is not used to train or improve its models, and we have not turned storage on. It returns only a likelihood for each sentence.

What is saved

  • Signed in: each check and its results are saved to your account history, so you can open them again. You can delete them from your history at any time.
  • Guest checks (no account) are not linked to an account.
  • Chrome extension: your sign-in, settings and a list of your last 20 checks are kept in Chrome’s storage on your own device. Removing the extension deletes them.
  • Google Docs add-on: your sign-in and a summary of your last check for each document are kept in your own Google account, where only you can see them. We do not use Google Docs text to train AI models.

How we protect it

  • Encryption in transit (TLS/HTTPS) for everything you send us.
  • Access to data limited to the people who need it to run the service.
  • Monitoring for unauthorized access or suspicious activity.
  • Sign-in links for AI assistants use short-lived tokens, and we store only hashed copies.

Ads

On this website, ads appear only on news articles and guides, not on the checker or your results. Your text is never used to target ads.

Common questions

Is the text I check used to train AI?

No. We do not use the text you check to train AI models, and the AI-detection service we use does not store text sent through its API by default or use it to train its models.

Do you sell or share my text?

No. Your text is sent only to the services that produce your results: our plagiarism-matching service and our AI-detection service. We do not sell it or use it for advertising.

Can I delete my checks?

Yes. If you are signed in, your checks are saved to your account history, where you can delete them at any time. To delete your account or any other data, email contact@plagiarismcheckerplus.com.

Will my essay show up in someone else’s plagiarism check?

No. We do not add the text you check to a database that other people’s checks are compared against.
