Something to ask about, not just a number
One score gives you nothing to say to a student. The sentence view shows which passages the score comes from.
An overall AI score
One score for the whole paper: how much of it reads as AI-written. It is a probability, so read it as a starting point.
A likelihood for every sentence
Each sentence is scored on its own. You can see which passages to ask the student about instead of pointing at one number.
Plagiarism in the same report
Add the plagiarism check to see where the paper matches other sources. The report links each matching source.
How to check student work for AI in 4 steps
Paste the student’s work
At least 50 words. Without an account you can check up to 1,000 words at a time.
Run the check
You see the overall AI score first, then the likelihood for each sentence.
Mark the passages to ask about
Note where the flagged sentences sit together. One flagged sentence means little. A flagged section gives you a question to ask.
Talk to the student
Ask how they wrote those passages and look at their drafts. Decide after the conversation, not before it.
A score starts the conversation. It does not end it.
We would rather you know this before you rely on a score.
A score is a reason to talk
An AI score is a probability, not proof. Any detector can flag writing a student wrote alone.
Never the only evidence
A score should never be the only basis for an academic integrity decision. Add drafts, version history and the student’s earlier work.
Ask before you accuse
Open with questions about the flagged passages. A student who wrote the work can usually explain how it came together.
