How to Install the Chrome Extension and Sign In

Add Plagiarism Checker Plus from the Chrome™ Web Store, then click its toolbar icon to open the side panel. A sign-in page opens automatically after installing: sign in or create a free account to connect the extension. You can also try one free guest check per tool (up to 1,000 words) without signing in.
Install the Chrome extension
- Make sure you’re using Chrome version 116 or later (Settings › About Chrome shows your version and updates it).
- Open the Plagiarism Checker Plus listing in the Chrome Web Store and click Add to Chrome, then Add extension.
- Pin it for quick access: click the puzzle-piece Extensions icon in the toolbar, then the pin next to Plagiarism Checker Plus.
- Reload any tabs that were already open, so the in-page Check buttons can appear on them.
Sign in
Right after you install, a Plagiarism Checker Plus sign-in page opens in a new tab. If you’re already signed in on the website, it connects the extension to your account; if not, it asks you to sign in or create a free account first. You can start this any time from Sign in at the top of the side panel.
- The extension gets its own sign-in token. It never uses your website cookies.
- If you don’t use the extension for 90 days, you’re signed out automatically. Sign in again the same way.
- To sign out, open the account menu (your initials at the top right of the side panel) and choose Sign out. You can also disconnect browsers from the extension sign-in page on the website.
Try it without an account
As a guest you get one free AI check and one free plagiarism check, each up to 1,000 words — the same as on the website. After that, a free account lets you keep checking. See Word limits.
Find your way around the side panel
- Check — paste or type text, choose AI detection and/or Plagiarism, and click Check text. It shows how many words the check uses before you start.
- Cite — builds a citation for the page you’re on in APA 7, MLA 9, Chicago or Harvard. See How to cite a website.
- History — your recent checks. Click one to reopen its results.
- Account menu — your plan and words left, settings for the in-page buttons, the keyboard shortcut, and Sign out.
Long plagiarism checks keep running when you close the panel. Chrome shows a notification and a ✓ on the toolbar icon when results are ready.
